Our Community
Our Stampede City Mixed Chorus spreads joy through song. Some, however, need more than song to smooth out the challenges in their lives. So we do what we can to help.
For many years now, proceeds from each of our major shows have gone to support local charities. To help us have more available to support local non-profits and meet other community needs along the way, we are also for hire for special events as a chorus, or in smaller groups and quartets. So when you hire us, you also help make a difference. Thank you!
But when it comes down to it, we just love to sing and so you will also find us represented at many community events throughout the year.
During our Fall “2024 Season of Carols”, for example, the Stampede City Chorus:
- Donated almost $9000 to various charities through our major shows and other fundraising efforts including:
- MS Canada
- Silvera for Seniors
- St. Vincent de Paul Society
- Brown Bagging For Calgary Kids (BB4CK).
- We had 3 major performances and 9 small group performances predominantly:
- BB4CK
- Zoolights
- Senior LIving Facilities
- Ronald McDonald House
And that doesn’t include the weekly social sing outs after rehearsals, going for breakfasts, Stampede activities, birthday parties, and other impromptu venues where the opportunity presents itself.
In short, when you sing with our Stampede City Mixed Chorus your joy will most certainly brighten lives and warm hearts; it’s one more reason we consider ourselves as THE Calgary Community Chorus for Mixed Acappella. We truly are where acappella meets happy.
