Giving Back to Our Community Through Song

As a community chorus where everyone from all walks of life is welcome, the Stampede City Mixed Chorus is proud of its history of supporting the full diversity of worthy non-profits , especially at Christmas. Because of the need this year, rather than giving one Saturday Christmas Show to help one non-profit, we thought we would give three “Evenings of Carols” in three different areas of Calgary to help three non-profits.

Since many of the 55 singers on our risers are involved with a variety of non-profits in one manner or other, we decided we would start those with whom a number of our chorus members are connected.

St. Vincent de Paul Society (https://ssvpcalgary.ca/ ). Similar to the food bank, this charity, run by lay Catholic members, helps vulnerable people in Calgary with emergency food hampers and assistance meeting basic needs. Sometimes they even help people access funds for housing, utilities and other essential needs.

  1. Location: SE Calgary. To support St. Vincent de Paul’s efforts, we look forward to seeing you at our show on Wednesday, November 27, 7:15 pm at St. Albert the Great Church (10 Prestwick Drive SE, Calgary).
